With co-funding from the European Regional Development Fund, the University of Sheffield has established a flagship national Translation Energy Research Centre (TERC) – a multi-technology, integrated platform for research, development and innovation at pilot-scale, to understand and demonstrate green energy solutions for a secure, affordable and sustainable energy system. It is one of the largest and best-equipped research and development facilities in Europe for zero-carbon energy, hydrogen, bioenergy, CCUS and combustion. We aim to procure a hydrogen fuel cell tests station. It will be used to investigate the impact of the operating conditions (i.e. the temperature, pressure, gas composition and humidity) on single fuel cell or small fuel cell stacks. It will be also used to investigate the effect of the new materials and/or designs on the fuel cell performance.

TWI is developing a new Materials Integrity Centre on TeesAMP at Ferrous Road, Middlesbrough, TS2 1DJ with the new centre being supported by ERDF and TVCA funding. The project will upgrade the current research facilities on the site as well as providing a new research and innovation facility. The University of Sheffield's Translational Energy Research Centre (TERC) is one of the largest and best-equipped national R&D centres in Europe for zero-carbon energy, hydrogen, bioenergy, and Carbon Capture, Utilisation and Storage (CCUS). We are looking to procure a sustainable aviation fuel (SAF) pilot plant based on Fischer-Tropsch technology. The plant will be required to produce at least 1.5 litres/h of sustainable aviation fuel to Jet A-1 ASTM specification D1655 (with flash point minimum of 38°C and a freeze point maximum of -47°C). The SAF plant will utilise CO2 extracted from bioenergy exhaust gases and on-site generated green H2 as feedstocks. It will also have the option to use biomass syngas from an onsite gasifier.

Swansea University is looking to procure a development partner to carry out a further phase of expansion and development works on, or near to, its Bay Campus. The works will comprise the: - construction and delivery of between 20,000 and 30,000 square meters of academic development, and ancillary retail and support facilities located on the Bay Campus; - construction, maintenance and operation of a minimum of six hundred (600) (and a maximum of fifteen hundred (1500)) accommodation units either on, or near to, the Bay Campus; and - potential construction and delivery of additional ancillary student space, welfare facilities and place-making such as (but not limited to) sports or music facilities.
