Somerset County Council (“Council”) awarded a contract to Viridor Waste Management Limited (“Viridor”) in 2006 following a procurement for project management services for the delivery of the Council’s municipal waste strategy and its landfill directive obligations to divert biodegradable municipal waste from landfill (the “Contract”). The procurement was advertised in OJEU Contract Notice (2004/S 204-174980). This also encompassed the delivery of waste services and development of new waste treatment facilities - details can be found in the OJEU Contract Notice.
Thames Water Utilities Ltd (TWUL) is seeking to establish a contract for the delivery of Waste Network Services which includes maintenance (reactive activity such as clearing blockages); civils work; the delivery of rehabilitation works to the waste network; and rodent control services. TWUL will be testing two options for maintenance.
Buckinghamshire Council (the Authority) invites Tenders for the provision of dry recycling services, which include hauling, sorting and reprocessing of recyclables. The contract term is 3 years from 10 May 2021 to 9 May 2024 with the option to extend for up to a further 3 years to 9 May 2027.
The purpose of this Notice is to inform the market of the additional works/services to be performed by UBB Waste (Essex) Limited following a proposed amendment of its contract with ECC for the design, construction, commissioning, operation and handback of a mechanical biological treatment facility in Basildon. The facility did not pass the acceptance tests specified in the contract which led to ECC commencing litigation against the contractor. The Authority has given notice that it is proposing to take a decision to enter into an Agreement to settle that litigation and to amend the handback requirements of the contract such that the site will be returned to ECC in a condition that will allow for its future redevelopment. It is expected that the modified contract will expire in 2040.
The framework agreement covers the provision of comprehensive and innovative waste solutions and suppliers will be expected to proactively assist in attempts to reduce the quantities of waste sent to landfill and achieve recycling targets. This is in line with the revised Waste (England and Wales) Regulations 2011 that prioritise the waste hierarchy.
A service to be provided by the contractor to manage the collection and disposal of portable and non-portable batteries within Great Britain excluding Northern Ireland. The estimated amount of batteries for collection is 16 000 tonnes per annum, this figure is for guidance only. There is also a requirement for the contractor to provide suitable containers/packaging for the removal of batteries. This Contract will have a duration of 7 years.

This contract is for the provision of grounds maintenance (including weed control) within NI Water sites across Northern Ireland. Services required under this contract will include grass cutting, removal and disposal of grass cuttings (where appropriate e.g. first cut), edge maintenance, hedge trimming, shrub pruning, tree surgery and weed control.
