The minor highway framework is to support Highways Maintenance Service with minor Civil Engineering projects

Following a procurement exercises Hackney Council has awarded a contract for the provision of Highways Maintenance, covering improvement of footways, carriageways, street lighting and other associated highways maintenance works. These works will enable the successful delivery of the capital improvement programme, reactive maintenance works and other associated works, carried out under a Measured Term Contract.

The contract is for the contractor to develop with the Council a high-performing, comprehensive highways service. The contract encompasses highway maintenance, design, construction, transport planning, consultancy with other services including but not limited to vehicle and grounds maintenance.

The proposed works covered under the Highways Capital Improvement Projects Term Contract typically but not exhaustively include: New kerbing and footway works; Carriageway realignment, reconstruction, planing and surfacing works; Junction improvement works; Traffic Signal Junctions and Controlled Crossings (Puffin, Toucan and Pegasus); Installation of Bus Stops and pedestrian crossing point to DDA standards; Provisions for cycling; Installation of street furniture; Traffic calming features. Site-specific details will be issued with the individual works packages.

Suitably qualified and competent contractors will make up an approved list of companies that will work in partnership to deliver services or works for construction, repairs and maintenance on an as and when basis, to meet the demands of peaks and troughs and to utilise specialist companies for services or works not currently carried out by internal teams

The lotting structure for this framework is based on contract value and the works cover a variety of works, including, but not limited to Public realm works, Highways construction works, Highways structure works, Drainage works, Marine / coastal / river works

The Enabling Civils Works (Package 2) (ECW2) Contract is to carry out the enabling civils works for HS2 Phase 2a, consisting of the construction of a bridge and associated slip roads across the M6 motorway at Yarnfield Lane, Stone, Staffordshire, together with highways improvements to Yarnfield lane; and off-route road improvement schemes at 20 locations across the line of route that are intended to mitigate the effects of increased traffic numbers during the main HS2 construction works with associated survey works.
